Despite tougher regulations on the sale of vitriolic substances, acid attacks seem to continue on women all over India. Supreme Court has expressed its sorrow and disgust over this. The Court had ordered the Centre and all the State Governments to file detailed reports on the steps taken to prevent such attacks and the steps taken to rehabilitate the victims of such attacks.

Following the Court’s orders in March this year, tougher regulations were imposed on the sale of acids all over the country. In spite of these measures, acid attacks continue.
